Catering Assistant (Part-time)

Working as part of the wider Facilities Team, the purpose of the role is to provide an outstanding hospitality experience for all visitors and employees utilising our onsite canteen, The Welcome Inn. Working with other members of the Welcome Inn Team to deliver a warm welcome to all whilst providing quality food and ensuring all food safety guidelines are adhered to.

Location: Burton-On-Trent
Contract: Part-time (14 hours)

Proactively working as a team with other members of the Welcome Inn Team
Ordering fresh produce daily for breakfast and lunch from a local supplier through telephone and email communciation
Co-ordinating deliveries from third party suppliers ensuring all items arrive on time
A flexible approach when communicating with people at all levels
Communicating with the wider Facilities team to support with events

Providing an epic hospitality experience to all who utilise the Welcome Inn
Ensuring kitchen and serving areas are set up each day
Replenishment of serving areas in a timely manner with an eye for detail
Perform duties in accordance with COSHH regulations and food policies
Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and service areas
Ensuring all food is stored in accordance with due diligence procedures

 

Technical Competencies / Professional Expertise:

The passion to deliverexcellent service is key so experience in a hospitality environment is highly desirable
Previous experience of working within a commercial kitchen environment supported by a Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification
The ability to build relationships and appropriately communicate to people of all levels
Competent IT skills in Microsoft Packages (including Outlook, Excel and Word)
Able to work in a team by demonstrating flexibility – a real team player
