Finance Apprentice

Working with our awesome Finance team, the purpose of the role is provide the business with multi skilled, financial processing and administrative support.

Key Accountabilities

• Meet individual, departmental and business objectives in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Process information timely and accurately using Punch computer systems, in accordance with relevant SLAs, legislative requirements and company policy
• Willingness to provide additional ad hoc/project support to the wider Finance Team

• Ability to recognise and effectively respond to the team and wider business priorities, in order to contribute to the overall success of our pubs
• Deliver exceptional customer service and support to both external customers and internal stakeholders in a professional manner and in line with company policy and legislative requirements

• Confidently liaise with Field Operations, internal support teams and suppliers (as appropriate) in order to achieve accurate completion of all team tasks and enquiries
• The monitoring of internal and external process compliance and urgently escalating any non-compliance to your line manager
• Add value to the team by identifying and sharing potential opportunities to improve current processes and procedures

Person Specification – Technical Competencies/Professional expertise

• A customer focused approach and having the ability to listen and respond to customers appropriately, providing a quality service at all times
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely on the telephone and in writing
• Ability to work in a team by demonstrating flexibility, a positive can do attitude
• Ability to work in a fast paced and changeable environment
• Ability to build rapport and develop key relationships
• Great administrative skills, organisation and workload prioritisation highly desirable
• Right First Time Delivery – highly resilient and works with pace, focus and optimism whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Integrated Working – collaborates effectively across internal departments and outside the business to achieve swift and co-ordinated delivery of results
• Aims to learn and then demonstrate a commercial awareness in day to day operations
• GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Competent user of – Word, Excel, Outlook or a comparable database package is highly desirable
• Experience of working to targets and deadlines (this can be in a school/college environment)
