Financial Services Manager

Working within our awesome Finance team, the purpose of the role is to ensure the provision of a robust and first-class Financial service across the business, including to both internal and external stakeholders. Whilst leading the Financial Services team, you will also be responsible for the generation of key reports and analysis for Senior members of the Finance team.


Key Accountabilities


  • Lead a strong, high-performing financial processing team, aspiring to be well within all key SLAs
  • Enthuse and motivate others to effectively work under pressure, delivering targets and deadlines whilst providing a first-class service to the business
  • Be aware of and responsive to business needs, with a focus on supporting the delivery of all the finance team and wider business strategic objectives
  • Always willing to provide additional ad hoc/project support to the wider Finance team



  • Provision of effective business insight to support the wider business in driving performance and making our pubs more successful
  • The ability to recognise and respond quickly to wider business activity, suggesting approaches in which Financial Services can further support



  • Add value to the wider team by identifying and sharing potential opportunities to improve current processes and procedures
  • Provide regular guidance, coaching and training to create and maintain a high performing, multiskilled Financial Services team



  • Ensure all departmental procedures are compliant with financial regulations
  • Through your team, ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and support to both external customers and internal stakeholders, both in a professional manner and in line with company policy/legislative requirements
  • Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative but to also be flexible in supporting the wider Finance team
  • Building strong and effective relationships across all areas of the business (senior and junior colleagues alike)



  • Confidently liaise with field operations, internal support teams and suppliers as appropriate, in order to achieve accurate and timely completion of all tasks and enquiries

Person Specification – Technical Competencies/Professional expertise

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, coaching and developing individuals
  • Self-motivated; able to work on own initiative but also to be flexible in supporting the team
  • Able to plan and organise effectively in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely on the telephone and in writing
  • Ability to build rapport and develop key relationships
  • Proactive approach to individual training, development and progression
  • A good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel and a competent user of Microsoft Word/Outlook is highly desirable
  • A good knowledge and understanding of financial services processes
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Navision desirable
  • CIMA / ACCA Qualification highly desirable
