Management Partnerships Recruitment Manager

Working within our awesome Recruitment team, the purpose of the role is to take responsibility for sourcing the best talent for our Management Partnership businesses. You will support Operations with coordinating and executing the Management Partnership recruitment plan efficiently attracting, sourcing, and assessing potential Management Partners (MPs). Focus should be on using the right platforms to engage with potential MPs, conducting assessments to make sure that only the best of the best are passed to Operations Managers for interview.

As one of the first points of contact for potential Management Partners, the MP Recruitment Manager should be highly professional, have incredible sourcing skills and be able to converse proficiently in all elements of the pub offer and relevant contract associated – a true ambassador for Punch and MP! #WeLovePubs

Key Accountabilities:


We need someone who can:

  • Take overall ownership for centrally sourcing the best candidates for Management Partnerships
  • Support with coordinating and executing the Management Partnership’s recruitment plan
  • Be responsible for developing strategies to attract candidates
  • Create a talent pipeline of potential MPs for the future
  • Develop a database of suitable candidates
  • Maximise local awareness of Punch opportunities by using advertising through traditional and online platforms
  • Create and publish suitable adverts
  • Monitor the recruiting metrics to ensure we have the right plan and be able to adapt if needed

  • Provide support and guidance to all punch applicants coupled with relevant insight to the pub industry and competitors

  • Explore new and untapped recruitment pools, specifically those that might be attracted to the Management Partnerships Model
  • Implement new sourcing methods when required
  • Review current working processes and practices to determine productivity and efficiency gains

  • Proactively manage and communicate attraction events and support Operations Manager in these events
  • Obtain the relevant information needed to match the best possible candidate available to the pub
  • Ensure that there is effective communication across all functions regarding publican recruitment
  • Identify possible development solutions to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Provide professional support and guidance to all colleagues
  • Promote the Punch and MP brand on both online and offline platforms



We need someone who can:

  • Work with the Operations team to support succession plans where MPs might have the ability to progress in site profile
  • Proactively share recruitment leads with an aim to achieve the overall company wide recruitment targets
  • Conduct first interviews and pass to Operations Managers for operating plan stages, ensuring only highly credible candidates are passed to OM for second interview
  • Ensure that there is consistency in ways of working across the team by helping to create, adopt and evolve the systems and processes that support recruitment
  • Identify and consolidate the applicant brief and provide a variety of suitable applicants

What we’re looking for – Technical Competencies/Professional expertise

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written – can adapt communication style and builds strong working relationships
  • Planning and Organising skills, capable of planning and managing time with stretching deadlines and manages own workload effectively
  • Teamwork focus, encouraging other team members to participate and will support and coach where appropriate. Will not just accept status quo
  • Customer Focus, act as the company’s ambassador
  • Commercial Acumen, make constructive suggestions on how processes can be improved. Takes the initiative to be aware of the external business issues

  • Experienced in Recruitment, Retail or Hospitality industry (most preferably experienced in working for a recruitment agency)
  • Understanding of retail industry and can develop understanding specifically of the pub industry
  • Experience of and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ideally experience of screening and interviewing techniques or a demonstrable ability to learn
  • Good customer and supplier relationship management skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and workflow processes
  • Driving Licence
