As we enter into a new week, I wanted to write again and thank you for your understanding and professionalism during these very challenging and unprecedented times.
As ever, everyone at Punch remains fully committed to working with you in partnership so that we all come through this situation together, as strongly as possible.
I understand that there may have been some unintended frustration caused last week as rental invoices were received, so I wanted to take this opportunity to clarify our position on rent.
As per our previous communications, we have suspended the collection of rent, insurance, fixtures and fitting rental, pub care and licensing fees until further notice.
Throughout this period, your account will continue to be billed and the invoices will be generated. To be clear, we are not collecting these payments at this time.
Your Operations Manager will be contacting you to discuss your individual circumstances, and to help plan your cashflow throughout this period of closure. These conversations will enable our teams to help you and your pub business as best we can and establish when your inflow of Government funding will enable the payment of rent.
It’s been great to see that some of you have already received your grants and we are hopeful that the grant money for everyone will start to come through very quickly now.
Financial support for furloughing and the self-employed is frustratingly taking longer but we are continuing to lobby the Government for this process to be made easier and quicker, whilst also lobbying for the promised access to cash through loans and bank lending to be improved for all.
Support from Jubilee House
As a reminder, following the Government guidance, we too have needed to evolve and change our business structure and, as such, whilst all services provided by our support teams at Jubilee House will be maintained, this will be at a reduced capacity.
