We know that we’ll need to demonstrate that pubs can meet the COVID Secure Guidelines the Government taskforces are working through, and that each business will be required to complete a risk assessment ahead of re-opening.
Our aim is to provide you with detailed checklists and documentation to support you in completing the assessments required and readying your pub for the day that you can safely reopen.
Last week our Marketing & Strategy Director, Russell Danks, and Head of Insights, Projects & Strategy, James Gilbert, hosted a webinar sharing invaluable insight on what our consumer may look like post COVID-19.
We remain committed to updating you as the insight continues to evolve, however, if you missed the webinar, you can access the slides presented HERE.
Other key updates include:
BBG’s Save Pub Life Initiative
The Budweiser Brewing Group (BBG) launched their ‘Save Pub Life’ initiative in April and have seen huge success with 1,459 pubs from across the industry signing up to take part and 13,884 gift cards purchased bringing the amount raised to a phenomenal £824,565 (including BBG’s donation) for pubs.
The initiative encourages pubgoers to purchase gift cards to use in their local when it reopens with the value of each card being matched by BBG.
The Self – Employment Income Support Scheme
Just as a reminder that the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme is open for applications.
This scheme allows the self-employed to claim a taxable grant of up to 80% of average monthly trading profits, capped at £2,500 per month, for a three month period.
Successful applications should reach accounts by 25th May 2020 or within six working days of applying.
COVID -19 Testing
The Government has now announced that anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 can get a test by booking on line and that, with 21,000 contact tracers in England, the Government will now implement a test and trace programme for all positive test results.
That programme will be key in move forwards with the further easing of lock down further and we look forward to hearing more detail on this in the coming weeks.
