This October, The Red Lion pub in Woodbridge welcomed two new faces to the helm, with Karina Rose and Jo Myers now Management Partners of the town’s beloved pub.

Having been locals themselves for many years, and both having worked in the pub previously, Karina and Jo leapt at the opportunity to take over the pub, driven by fresh ideas and a shared passion to see it thrive.

Karina said: “Jo and I are thrilled to be a part of the new changes at the Red Lion, it’s a pub that we both hold dearly, and somewhere we’ve both shared many treasured memories over the years.

“Our ambition is crystal clear; we want to bring back the community spirit to this fantastic pub and reignite its food offering. This opportunity is incredibly exciting, and after years of toying with the idea of running a pub of our own, we’ve finally turned those dreams into a reality.”

Wasting no time, Karina and Jo have already made some big changes at the Red Lion, with a shake-up to the food and drinks menu and its entertainment line-up.

This November, they will launch their Autumn/Winter menu, featuring pub classics like beer-battered fish and chips, honey-glazed ham hock, and a Korean fried chicken burger, cooked up and served by Head Chef Nick Grey, who is returning to the pub after 3 years.

Karina continued: “I’m excited to have Nick working alongside us again, he’s a fantastic chef and he’s well-known to our guests too! We’re already seeing old faces return, and we’ve received some incredibly positive reviews so far. We’ve got some exciting things planned for the rest of 2025, with an even bigger 2026, and we’re only just getting started.”

In addition to their new food menu, Karina and Jo have also introduced two guest ales, which didn’t feature at the pub before. They will also be updating and switching up their cocktail list, which they’re confident will be a hit with guests.

And whilst food and drinks are hugely important to them, the Red Lion team is also focused on guest experience, creating a regular entertainment line-up and ensuring their guests continue to make memories at their local – with live music, quiz nights and a Santa’s Workshop already in the diary for 2025.

Excited about their future at the pub, and fuelled by a joint passion of delighting their guests and inspiring those moments, Karina, Jo and team Red Lion are ready to write the next chapter in the pub’s story – filled with fun, good times, and community spirit.
