With a strong culinary background, our operator should be able to implement a well-balanced menu to capture local provenance whilst ensuring effortless speed of service from the kitchen.  

With classic pub meals and fresh fish in high demand, you need to be able to excel on the basics and deliver on the impossible to ensure that you produce a truly memorable guest experience.  

Fantastic food & knock out service are the cornerstone of this business. This can only be achieved with a real team effort so infectious enthusiasm and inspirational leadership will be second nature to you.  

Did we mention that it also has a wellused function room, 9 en suite guest rooms, a large wrap around garden and a car park for 100 vehicles?  Attention to detail through obsessive passion is required for all the intricacies of this multi-facetted business.   

The Pub  

The pub is in the small village of Sidford, enjoying a prominent roadside location on the busy A3052 which runs along the East Devon coastline. The property itself looks like a quintessential Devon pub dating back 100’s of years but it was actually completely rebuilt in 2007 following a disastrous fire. It was reconstructed which much regard to the original character and so open fires, uneven wall finishes and traditional beams still feature highly within the various snugs of the building.  

There is plenty on offer within just a short drive of the pub. The Regency town of Sidmouth with plenty of heritage and beaches, the county town of Exeter, the delights of Beer and the famous Donkey Sanctuary. This country pub is a magnet for locals & tourists alike all looking for a home from home experience.

The Blue Ball is an iconic pub and not just in the immediate area. Guests return time after time but we believe that there is still a lot more to achieve.  

Currently the Blue Ball Inn has no domestic managers accommodation however there is approval to turn two of the current letting rooms into a managers flat if required.

The internal foundations are already here for you to build upon. This iconic property has the space, look and layout to achieve epic things although we will give it an exterior face lift as well as a gentle spruce up to the guest rooms!
