Overview

Being the custodian of The Boot will provide you and your family with a quality lifestyle on the outskirts of Sutton Coldfield.

Already a mature and respected business, your well-honed hospitality skills will take it to the next level. You’ll also use your creative social marketing talent to extend the customer base whilst continuing to nurture and satiate the needs of your local guests.

The Boot is a well-rounded business that demands a versatile operator who can turn their hand to all things classic pub. You’ll be the life and soul of the community, showcasing a fantastic pub food menu and hosting popular charity events and family days. Never one to rest on your laurels; you’ll rally the local darts and football teams for competitive and charity events. You’ll also deliver popular weekly quizzes and open mic nights.

Leading by example, you’ll recruit, train, coach and retain the best possible staff. Sharing your passion for exceptional service, you’ll give them the tools to go above and beyond every day for every customer, whatever the occasion.

Your food offer will be classic pub grub. We’re talking great value for money. You’ll be known for taking pride in serving the best fish and chips, gammon steak with a tasty fried egg and a mouth-wateringly dirty burger. Your Sunday lunch will be famous in the locality to the degree that securing a table will be a talent. Yours will be the pub where everyone is welcome.

You’ll take pride in your beers. Achieving a five-star cask marque will become grist for the mill. Guests may visit alone, but once they are at the Boot, they will be part of a community and find it hard to leave.

The Boot needs a sports lover, even if it’s only from the couch. You’ll go over and above to make sure customers choose your pub for the big games. With Sky, BT Sports, and the Racing Channel, this won’t be a hard sell. Local teams also thrive at the Boot pub supporting darts and youth football teams. You’ll love hosting charity events. The regulars are generous and warm and enjoy socialising for a good cause.

The pub and location

The historic Boot pub and its adjacent malthouse were built in the 1800s to serve the local community. The job of inn-keeping was not enough for the person living there. So, Joseph James moved into the Boot in 1843. James was a Cordwainer: a maker of boots and shoes, and so The Boot Inn was named in the 1870s. It was the centre of the growing community, which it still is today.

The Boot Inn in Sutton Coldfield is a fantastic community and family pub that you will be proud to run. Located at the heart of the community, next to Rectory Park, the pub is everything a village pub should be. Somewhere you’re always welcome and relaxed, whether you’re by yourself or with friends and family.

The Boot pub prides itself on having a fantastic drinks range! You’ll offer a selection of craft and cask ales, spirits, and an extensive range of wines. Sports fans will love to visit to watch sports games on your big screen.

With a visible, occasion savvy publican at the helm, The Boot will continue to grow. The occasions here are as broad as you want to make them; you’ll undoubtedly get out what you put into this gem of a pub, taking advantage of the back bar full of different spirits. Guests enjoy gin, rum, vodka, and whisky.

The Boot is a neat and tidy pub set back from Rectory Road, less than a mile from the centre of Sutton Coldfield, opposite Good Hope Hospital. With a carpark to the front, the site shares the space with a recently developed Co-Op convenience store.

Not only is it situated in a fantastic location, but this is also a beautiful pub. The decking to the front provides a great and safe opportunity to sit and relax, whiling away the hours. Through the entrance of the pub, you’ll see that the open plan is well zoned with separate and distinct drinking and bar areas. Left of the bar is the main dining area. Guests enjoy the ever-popular booth seating areas giving way to a more traditional dining space. To the right, you’ll see a lovely traditional open fire and a raised area which doubles as a stage for live music and open mic nights.

Then, walking through the double doors, you’ll find the picturesque hidden gem of a garden. The garden is a sun trap and a lovely place to wind down after a hard day at work. It’s the go-to pub garden on the first sunny day of the year. Little people enjoy the substantial kids play area, and some adults gravitate to the large, covered smoking shelter. You’ll also discover a well-appointed, fully kitted out catering kitchen at the Boot kitted out to deliver a classic pub menu.
