The Pub

The Dog and Bull is a quirky, historic pub with wooden eaves and sash windows. The trade space consists of a bar with a centre-piece square bar (protected) focusing on vertical drinking with two adjoining rooms for dining (60 Covers). There is also a private dining space with twenty covers on the first floor. Outside, you’ll have room for over two hundred covers with private booths and an event hire area, serviced by a fully functioning kitchen with a pizza oven and a separate bar.

You’ll be running a popular venue in Croydon town centre: a hub of activity for shoppers, workers, and visitors. You won’t be short of potential footfall, as East Croydon station is nearby, welcoming more than 26,000 passengers daily. Moreover, Croydon is a growth borough in London, with an ambitious £5.25 billion regeneration programme. The exciting transformation of the town centre is already underway.

The Dog and Bull provides a rare opportunity to take on this historic, traditional pub, deliver transformational growth and launch our newly invested, prime city centre pub.

The Ideal Management Partner

We’re seeking a duo to manage the front-of-house and kitchen. You’ll also engage and motivate a team to deliver consistently first-class service. You will have experience managing high street locations and a good knowledge of Croydon Town Centre. Experience in delivering on investments will also set you apart from other applicants. We have big plans for this pub, and you will be able to demonstrate excitement and passion to deliver the project to a high standard.

You’ll be an enthusiastic operator who feels comfortable front and centre greeting your guests and introducing and growing a simple city menu. Your focus will be on delivering five-star quality service and ratings.

The pub needs a savvy marketeer who will maximise social media channels to reach a new audience. You’ll ensure you are the go-to venue for locals, office workers and shoppers – the only place for business meetings and lunches. The pub also needs an operator who knows what online guests look for when making bookings. You’ll attract glowing Trip Advisor, Google, and social media presence.

Private accommodation

You’ll live in spacious private accommodation over three floors and two separate flats with up to five bedrooms, two kitchens and two bathrooms. The accommodation has everything you need to set up your new business and drive success. With superb local amenities and quick and easy access to Central London, it is a wonderful place to live!
