The Drum & Monkey is a beautiful Cask Marque premium pub in Kenn, a pretty village on the outskirts of Clevedon, a Victorian seaside town.  We’re looking for a passionate operator to position the pub firmly at the heart of the local community as well as the wider area. This is a traditional pub known for quality home-cooked food and great ales and drinks. It offers great facilities and a welcoming environment in which local residents can relax over a few drinks and get away from it all and is also situated on one of the roads leading into Clevedon with regular passers by.

Business facilities

The pub has a welcoming traditional country style and is in great condition externally and inside. It’s an open plan trading operation, with a cosy public/sports bar that opens into a relaxed lounge area. This, in turn, leads into a large main dining space with 95 covers throughout. Toward the back of the pub is a conservatory for dining, but which can also be used for special events or meetings. Outside, the car park provides parking for up to 10 vehicles and there are several tables to the front of the pub offer outdoor social space on warmer days.


The domestic accommodation consists of three bedrooms, a kitchen and a lounge.

About the local area

The Drum & Monkey is situated on the B3133 road through the pretty rural village of Kenn, near Clevedon in the North Somerset Levels. The pub benefits from easy links to the M5 and the coast, as well as being within easy driving distance to Bristol and Western Super Mare.

Clevedon is a fantastic coastal town with views of the Severn Estuary. It’s a stylish town know for its pier and pebble beach seafront. It attracts visitors from the local and far wider areas.

You will need to be confident in making the Drum & Monkey the hub of local life, creating a warm welcome and  building relationships with the locals, building or setting up pub teams and organising the right events for the local community/ wider area.

About the Agreement

Our Tenancy agreements vary between 3 – 5 years offer a flexible approach to running your own pub business. Your pub will be ready to trade, with carefully tailored food and drinks menus in place which you can evolve as you go along.

You will receive a high level of support and everything you need to run a successful business. From the beginning, you will have a dedicated Operations Manager, plus access to training and development, business planning, operations and accounting expertise.

Once you’ve completed the 5-day induction course we’ll provide you with ongoing support to help you maximise the efficiency, sales and profitability of your pub. This includes helping you decide on the right drinks offer, guidance on margin and support creating a marketing plan to build for continued success. To help market your pub, we also offer lots of support and advice.

Punch Tenancy agreements have shared repairs liability, we will help you manage your ongoing repairing obligations. We do this by operating a repairs and maintenance fund for all new agreements.

* The calculation of the initial Ingoing Costs assumes a minimum deposit (£3,000 or £6,000) plus legal fees. The subsequent deposit build up (if any) will need to be paid over 52 weeks. This can be discussed with the recruitment team or an Operations Manager.
