Ferry Boat Inn is a popular traditional bar, hotel and seafood restaurant located on the shores of Loch Broom on the beautiful West Coast of the Scottish Highlands.

Here you will discover cosy rooms for those looking to stay the night and a well-stocked bar with real ales, specially featured wines and a good malt whisky selection. The Ferry Boat Inn also presents a seafood restaurant, providing fresh local seafood in a relaxed and casual dining atmosphere.

Guests luxuriate in the fantastic views of Loch Broom and the surrounding hills. Understandably, the rooms are in high demand throughout the year, as is the food and drink offer. The Ferry Boat Inn is a seasonal pub that also retains a local trade throughout the winter.

You’ll be taking the reins of a popular pub with a reputation for fresh seafood from local supply and cask ale. Guests enjoy the live entertainment and stunning views whilst drinking on the Loch front. Traditionally, customers have used the opposite sea wall to enjoy a summer drink.

The site has two main trading areas, a restaurant and bar on the ground floor with a small smoking solution to the right of the pub in a small alley. There’s also a full catering kitchen and decent cellar space. Guests use the on-site parking directly outside the pub, as there is no private parking.

The Location  

Ullapool is a port and a village of around 1,500 inhabitants in Ross and Cromarty, Scottish Highlands, about 45 miles northwest of Inverness. Although Ullapool is modest in size, it is the largest settlement for many miles around. Ullapool is a major stop over on the increasingly successful North Coast 500 (NC500) tourist route which brings ever growing tourist business into the local community.

The ideal Publican will capitalise on this important port and tourist destination. From the well-travelled visitor to the local who lives next door, to musicians, artists, weary hill-walkers, visitors from all over the world, disparate tourists come together here to enjoy a drink, a delicious meal and gaze over the loch at the stunning view.

You’ll use the power of social media to market a business with a strong reputation for delicious local seafood. You’ll need to be comfortable overseeing a respectable, fresh-cooked menu.

Cask ale experience is beneficial, as it’s popular with guests. You’ll also excel as a host with a proven track record of successful accommodation marketing and operation experience. We’re looking for a seasoned operator. This opportunity would ideally suit a relocation for an experienced publican who is able to commit fully to a new life in the Highlands of Scotland.
