The Captain Cook Memorial Museum, housed where Cook once lived, displays paintings and maps. The Granby is set within the locals’ side of Whitby, slightly away from the main tourist hotspots.

Ideal Management Partner

We’re seeking an experienced and enthusiastic operator, able to be the host/hostess but also delegate to a well-trained and engaging team.

You’ll be adept at all aspects of the business, ensuring consistency from the cellar to service. You’ll also have a proven record of successfully managing letting rooms.

The ideal Management Partner will become an integral part of the local community, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the drink offer and will deliver excellent training to your staff. You will have kitchen experience, enabling you to launch your food offer to complement the drinks range.

We’re seeking a Management Partner who will:

–       Commit to being the face of the pub, creating a welcoming and safe environment for the mid-week grey socials to inspire loyalty.

–       Create a rhythm of the week with a clear understanding of which customer segments will benefit and when, while thinking about future events and how to target them.

–       Cater for a mix of customer segments; continuously reviewing success whilst building an acute awareness of what works when.

–       Have a genuine care for creating fundraising events for charities and integrate well with the community.

–       Shows innovation when creating the events which form the rhythm of the week, never afraid to try new things.

The pub consists of four bedrooms with a living room, kitchen, and bathroom with stunning views.
