Could you run this pub?
The Hest Bank Hotel is one of the oldest pubs in Hest Bank, an affluent village on the outskirts of Morecambe and Lancaster. The pub sits on the edge of a canal, popular with boaters and tourists from caravan parks dotted along the coast as well as residents from across the local area.
This historical pub began trading in 1544 brewing ale and serving game. It was also occupied by Cromwell’s officers during the English Civil War and then later in 1792 The Innkeeper shot Highwayman Edmund Grosse, who was hung at Lancaster Castle and its history continued into the modern day.
It’s also recently been completely refurbished with a new look and feel suited to the pubs customers and area and we are now seeking a talented operator who can continue to drive a business which is known for its good food, cask beers, professional staff and service.
The pub offers one bedroom, a private kitchen and lounge.
This pub offers excellent trading space with two bar serveries – one in the snug area popular with locals and walkers, as well as a central bar which serves as the main bar for the dining spaces. In all, the pub has dining for up to100 covers, alongside space the popular beer garden al fresco area overlooking the canal and Morecambe Bay.
