This pub is the ideal business opportunity for a captivating host and catering duo. We need operators who have the vision and know-how to put this pub in the heart of the local community.

Upon entering the pub, you will see the bar servery ahead of you with trading areas on either side. The trading area to the right provides the optimum dining experience, and to the left caters for those interested in drinking and bar sports. The open-plan space affords opportune flexibility for larger parties or sporting events.

The ideal operator will have the creativity to capitalise on the trading space we refurbished within the last four years with an ample sized beer garden. The pub is a great meeting place for people visiting Salisbury and those seeking an after-work drink.

The Location  

You will discover the Horse and Groom pub on Wilton Road, the main road into Salisbury, less than one mile from Salisbury city centre.

Salisbury is a medieval cathedral city in the southern English county of Wiltshire. It’s nine miles south of the iconic prehistoric stone circle at Stonehenge, which stands on the grassland of Salisbury Plain.

The city’s ornate 13th-century cathedral has a 123m spire, a working 14th-century clock, and an original copy of the Magna Carta (the Great Charter).

Visitors have been drawn to this city for centuries, as it is steeped in history and boasts stunning architecture. Footfall will not be an issue with this pub; the savvy operator will take advantage of the business potential of its popular location. 

Ideal Operator

Ideally, a duo or single operator  would operate this pub with a creative caterer managing the classic menu and the other partner being a gregarious host best able to captivate guests. You will both need to understand the local community and host team sports events.

About the Agreement

Our Tenancy agreements vary between 3 – 5 years offer a flexible approach to running your own pub business. Your pub will be ready to trade, with carefully tailored food and drinks menus in place which you can evolve as you go along.
You will receive a high level of support and everything you need to run a successful business. From the beginning, you will have dedicated Operations Manager, plus access to training and development, business planning, operations and accounting expertise. 

Once you’ve completed the 5-day induction course we’ll provide you with ongoing support to help you maximise the efficiency, sales and profitability of your pub. This includes helping you decide on the right drinks offer, guidance on margin and support creating a marketing plan to build for continued success. To help market your pub, we also offer lots of support and advice. Punch Tenancy agreements have shared repairs liability, we will help you manage your ongoing repairing obligations. We do this by operating a repairs and maintenance fund for all new agreements. 

* The calculation of the initial Ingoing Costs assumes a minimum deposit (£3,000 or £6,000) plus legal fees. The subsequent deposit build up (if any) will need to be paid over 52 weeks. This can be discussed with the recruitment team or Operations Manager
