The Inn On The Shore presents a rare opportunity to create a pub widely recognised as the best in Cornwall and one of the top ten in England. If you deliver the right offer and, most importantly, if you lead by example, an epic pub and an excellent guest experience will be born.
The ideal Management Partner will lead from the front and be the face of the business, driving weekly sales from £15k to £30k in the first year. You’ll ensure that the necessary training and procedures are in place. Delivering consistently excellent service in a structured and disciplined manner will also be essential.
We’re looking for a talented operator seeking to over-deliver. You’ll be adaptable, flexing business needs depending on the weather, season, and events. We’re looking for someone who can perform calmly under pressure, manage hands-on and always put guests at the heart of everything they do.
You’ll have the discipline and work ethos to drive sales and a passion for food and drinking. You’ll have previous boutique bedroom experience and show genuine care and commitment to the business, guests, and team. We’re looking for a community operator who is process-driven and detail-orientated. You’ll also be sensitive to your team’s personal and professional development needs.
The pub and location
The Inn on the Shore sits on the beach with stunning sea views in the picturesque coastal village of Downderry, near Torpoint, on the south coast of Cornwall. The historic towns of Plymouth and Liscard are both located within ten miles of the pub.
We’ve recently injected significant investment into the letting rooms. Plus, we have large building and remodelling works planned for 2023 to ensure the pub attracts locals and long-distance visitors. The heart of the pub will be the traditional country bar with scrub-topped tables and flagstone floors with a cosy snug with an open fire.
Next to the bar is a large sun terrace with stunning sea views and a bright yet relaxing dining room for seventy covers. The doors open onto a second large terrace offering panoramic views of the local coastline. The dining area boasts stunning views. Food is essential to the business, making the kitchen the heartbeat of the pub.
The eight beautifully furnished bedrooms above the pub are all done to an extremely high standard with large, sumptuous beds, coastal décor, shower rooms and rainstorm showers. These will prove extremely popular with holidaymakers and weekend trippers throughout the year.
The outside space is a showstopper! Plus, in 2023, there are plans to redevelop the terraced areas, the rear garden with fire pits and sheltered areas. We are also planning a pop-up bar and kitchen for the summer. Guests can sit back and relax in the sun with great food and drink with stunning coastal views.
