You’ll be taking over a pub that’s the locals’ favourite place to watch live sports. Guests love the TVs peppered around the pub showing live sport, and the cosy trading area decorated to a good standard. The savvy operator may enhance the business with a food offer.

This popular pub has a wide-open plan feel with a central bar. To the left, as you enter, there is a snug area in front of the fire. You could hold small informal functions in that area or host regular live events to give guests new reasons to visit.

We’re looking for a talented and experienced pub operator who will maximise the potential of the two beer gardens. The one to the rear can host twenty guests with a simple poseur bench solution. The garden to the front is a large area with an external tv under a timber roof structure. The front garden can host sixty guests.

You could maximise the potential of this venue as a destination pub, as York is hugely popular, and we often see an overflow into the suburb of Acomb.

Ideal operator

We’re seeking an experienced community operator with vision. The pub has a solid foundation of trade. However, we’re seeking an operator whose vision is to grow the business so that it realises its true potential.

You’ll capitalise on the food offer and explore the potential to add food. You could provide letting rooms to maximise your business.

This excellent business opportunity provides four bedrooms, a lounge, and a kitchen.
