The Marine is a well-established seaside pub in a prime location on the main Esplanade in Sidmouth. The pub has a contemporary feel, with a rustic interior and an authentic menu of homemade pizza that is well loved by both locals and holiday makers alike. This is complemented by a quality drinks range, from premium gins to craft beer, that guests can enjoy on the patio at the front of the pub and watch the sun go down over the sea.

As well as being a popular stop off for tourists, the Marine is the heart of the community and takes part in local events throughout the year, including the annual Folk Festival that will celebrate its 65th anniversary this year and attracts 10’s of thousands of people to the town for a full week.

The Marine has an open plan trading area with space for up to 60 guests along with an open kitchen and a well-positioned patio area to the front of the pub. this is directly opposite the main beach in Sidmouth and has space for an additional 24 guests.

Sidmouth is a beautiful town on the coast of Devon. It has picturesque scenery, with it being a gateway to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, with a large part of the town a designated conservation area. It attracts holiday makers in the summer months and also has sense of community among locals, meaning its atmosphere is always vibrant.

Ideal operator

This is the perfect pub opportunity for an enthusiastic Publican with experience in delivering a quality food offer in a busy seaside pub. You will have the skill to provide a versatile offer to appeal to holiday makers and also to engage with locals in the off season. You will have great marketing skills and be able to successfully flex to the complexities of running a seasonal business, engaging with all of your guests.

This fantastic pub opportunity comes with spacious domestic accommodation that consists of three bedrooms, a kitchen and lounge area.

About the Agreement

Our Tenancy agreements vary between 3 – 5 years offer a flexible approach to running your own pub business. Your pub will be ready to trade, with carefully tailored food and drinks menus in place which you can evolve as you go along.
You will receive a high level of support and everything you need to run a successful business. From the beginning, you will have dedicated Operations Manager, plus access to training and development, business planning, operations and accounting expertise.

Once you’ve completed the 5-day induction course we’ll provide you with ongoing support to help you maximise the efficiency, sales and profitability of your pub. This includes helping you decide on the right drinks offer, guidance on margin and support creating a marketing plan to build for continued success. To help market your pub, we also offer lots of support and advice.
Punch Tenancy agreements have shared repairs liability, we will help you manage your ongoing repairing obligations. We do this by operating a repairs and maintenance fund for all new agreements.

* The calculation of the initial Ingoing Costs assumes a minimum deposit (£3,000 or £6,000) plus legal fees. The subsequent deposit build up (if any) will need to be paid over 52 weeks. This can be discussed with the recruitment team or Operations Manager.
