The Rams Head,  is a beautiful traditional pub situated on a cobbled lane in the historical village of Grappenhall, Cheshire. This Cask Marque accredited pub has a well-established reputation for great food and fantastic ales and is a lovely destination for local residents and visitors from the wider area to unwind and meet for a relaxing drink or meal and enjoy the local surroundings.

About the local area

The Rams Head sits on a lovely cobbled Church lane in the desirable and affluent village of Grappenhall. The pub is just outside Warrington and 19 miles drive from Cheshire. The village is affluent with its large houses and sprawling gardens, a pretty village church (frequented for weddings), a local primary school, cricket club which make this a sociable village. Alongside this the Bridgewater Canal runs through the village and attracts both boaters and walkers.

The village has some interesting history including a carving of a cat on the village church tower, which was thought to be the inspiration for the Cheshire Cat in Lewis Carroll’s book ‘Alice’s adventures in Wonderland’.
