About the local area

The Sherston Hotel sits nearby a roundabout on the main road into Wells, its an easy walk from the city centre. Wells is a medieval city with historical buildings that attract tourists all year round – so there’s a steady flow of guests requiring affordable but high-standard accommodation. This affluent small city is home to 11,500 residents, with a further 45,000 living in the pretty villages dotted across this rural area. The Mendip Hills and the Somerset Levels  attract visitors for rambling, camping and birdwatching, while Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves appeal to families. Bath and Bristol are both easily reached in under 45 minutes, and Glastonbury, home to one of the UK’s most popular music festivals, is 15 minutes away.
