The Star Inn is an old property, with plenty of period features. It has the potential to be the best pub in the village, offering varied entertainment and TV sport plus a good quality, home cooked and locally sourced menu. Inside, there are two bars, the catering kitchen and a series of very cosy drinking & dining areas and small rooms. There’s a dedicated pool/sports area and the pub also shows all live sports. At weekends, the Star is a popular stop on a small local drinking circuit. Outside, it boasts a great beer garden, which attracts lots of summer trade for both drinking and dining. There’s a smoking solution and parking for 10 cars.

About the local area

The Star benefits from a very visible roadside position in the large Nottinghamshire village of Gotham and is also part of the local circuit. Gotham lies about 8 miles to the south of Nottingham and has a population of about 1,500. The pub is surrounded by residential housing, predominantly detached and semi-detached properties.

The ideal operator at the Star will be an outgoing, community-minded publican who is also an inspiring team leader with strong business acumen. You’ll have a passion for retail, a desire to work at the heart of the community and the ability to set and maintain the highest of standards. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, honest and hard-working individual who is committed to creating and developing a fantastic all-round offer here. Customer focus will be key to success at this site and you’ll also need to be constantly looking for ways to grow the business without compromising on quality.

The private accommodation consists of four bedrooms, a kitchen and a lounge.
