Could you run this pub?
The Steam Railway Co is a traditional pub which is close to the heart of Swindon Old Town in Wiltshire.
It’s a pub with some unique features (such as the unusual high beamed ceilings) and has a history of being known for offering good quality ales. Its facilities are spacious and there is real opportunity to establish a great business, and we have plans to introduce a kitchen and invest in this pub.

Business facilities
The pub offers a deceptively large open main bar space, which is ideal for customers to enjoy Live TV Sport and enjoy pub games. There is also lots of space to host entertainment. The pub also has a fantastic Ale house bar which has great opportunity to offer quality ales and craft beers and be a real selling point for the pub. Outside there is a spacious courtyard area for warmer days and evenings with capacity for almost 100 covers and there is also a dedicated smoking area and WIFI.

The pub will undergo an internal enhancement including decorations lighting and new back bars to the main bar. The addition of new TVs will also add to the sports TV offer. A dedicated games area will be created and more space for in house entertainment. There will also be a trade kitchen added.

The private accommodation includes three bedrooms, a kitchen and lounge

About the local area
Swindon is a town in Wiltshire and is surrounded by rural countryside and some interesting attractions. There are some lovely Victorian gardens, as well as lots of history including the Steam Museum. The town itself offers some lovely traditional shops, pubs, bars and cafes and shopping.
Swindon Old Town is about a 15 minute walk from the main town centre and has a busy night life centred around the bars and restaurants. The area serves a broad spectrum of customers and really comes to life in the evenings over the weekends.
The pub has been known in the past for its real ales and festivals and there is real opportunity to build on this reputation.
