You’ll find Kirkstall on the outskirts of Leeds, just 2.5 miles outside Leeds City Centre. It’s a leafy residential area known for Kirkstall Abbey, located opposite the pub, and the well-preserved ruins of a 12th-century Cistercian monastery, including a cloister and church.

Visitors also travel to the area to see the family-friendly Abbey House Museum, which recreates local Victorian life with homes and shops. They love the wildflower meadows and wetlands. Other popular spots are Kirkstall Valley Nature Reserve beside the River Aire and Beckett Park, with 200-year-old trees.
