The Wheatsheaf is really attractive and traditional looking pub, which is located right in the centre of the market town of Alton, Hampshire. It sits amongst a great network of roads and rail bringing regular passing trade. It’s a great place to enjoy a bite to eat at lunchtime or evening, as well as to meet for drinks with friends.
The pub is going to undergo a refurbishment to enhance its trading space to its best, creating one main bar rather than the two bars it currently has, which will allow better flow throughout the pub and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout.
Being central to the town there is no beer garden however there is a pavement licence to the front of the pub which allows outside seating to enjoy drinks on warmer days and evenings.

The pub will be a one bar pub following our refurbishment, this will create an open pub were customers can eat and drink throughout creating a much improved warm and welcoming atmosphere for customers . New fixtures and fittings will be supplied to improve the customer experience

About the local area
The town of Alton is surrounded by lovely rural countryside, and has a number of nearby tourist attractions including The Jane Austin Museum / Gilbert Whites House and the heritage railway line The Watercress Line . The town is well serviced by both road and rail having mainline link to London Waterloo driving regular passing trade in the area. In addition, there are a number of new housing developments to the outskirts of the town which will create potentially more customers

This opportunity may suit both and experience and new Publican with some transferrable skills, you will maybe have catering experience or have held a role within hospitality and have plans for your own business. You will have a clear idea of what you plan to do and a understanding of marketing including social media in order to market the pub fully and attract new customers.

About the Agreement

Our Tenancy agreements vary between 3 – 5 years offer a flexible approach to running your own pub business. Your pub will be ready to trade, with carefully tailored food and drinks menus in place which you can evolve as you go along.

You will receive a high level of support and everything you need to run a successful business. From the beginning, you will have a dedicated Operations Manager, plus access to training and development, business planning, operations and accounting expertise.

Once you’ve completed the 5-day induction course we’ll provide you with ongoing support to help you maximise the efficiency, sales and profitability of your pub. This includes helping you decide on the right drinks offer, guidance on margin and support creating a marketing plan to build for continued success. To help market your pub, we also offer lots of support and advice.

Punch Tenancy agreements have shared repairs liability, we will help you manage your ongoing repairing obligations. We do this by operating a repairs and maintenance fund for all new agreements.

* The calculation of the initial Ingoing Costs assumes a minimum deposit (£3,000 or £6,000) plus legal fees. The subsequent deposit build up (if any) will need to be paid over 52 weeks. This can be discussed with the recruitment team or an Operations Manager.
