The Crown & Cushion pub in Biddulph has officially reopened its doors following a major £250k investment with leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co.

The outcome is a revitalised, modern pub that’s designed to bring the community together and offer great value, entertainment and the best live sports experience in the area.

Leading the pub’s new chapter is Management Partner Kim Welsby, an experienced hospitality professional, known for her passion for people, community engagement and exceptional service.

Committed to putting the pub firmly back on the map, Kim has ambitions of working closely with local groups, charities and residents to give back to the community it serves.

She said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome everyone back to The Crown & Cushion. This refurbishment has transformed the pub into a vibrant, modern, community‑focused space while keeping the heart and warmth people love. I’m really looking forward to supporting local groups and giving the community a place they can be proud of.”

After a three-week closure, the refreshed pub now boasts two newly upgraded lounge areas, a vibrant main trading space, dedicated sports zone including refurbished darts zone and pool area, as well as an enhanced beer garden.

New to The Crown & Cushion will be a regular rhythm of the week programme making the pub a go-to destination every day, with live music showcasing local talent, karaoke, bingo, quiz nights and a dedicated line-up of darts and pool fixtures.

With upgraded screens, audio and an improved sports zone, guests will be delighted to enjoy all major sports fixtures from across the world with Sky and TNT Sports installed.

Alongside the refurbishment, Kim has also recruited new team members from the local area and continues to hire as part of its commitment to supporting local employment.

With its refreshed look, strong community partnerships, upgraded sports offering and diverse weekly entertainment, The Crown & Cushion is ready to stand out from local competitors and become a true Biddulph favourite once again.
