Catering Assistant

Working as part of the wider People Experience Team, the purpose of the role is to provide an outstanding hospitality experience for all visitors and employees utilising our onsite canteen, The Welcome Inn. Working with other members of the Welcome Inn Team to deliver an epic warm ‘Punch’ welcome to all whilst providing epic quality food and ensuring all food safety guidelines are adhered to. #WeLovePubs.

Contract: Part-time
(15 hours split over 3 days, plus flexible holiday cover)

Location: Jubilee House, Burton-On-Trent

We need someone who can:

  • Order fresh produce daily for breakfast and lunch, from a local supplier through telephone and email communication.
  • Co-ordinate deliveries from third party suppliers ensuring all items arrive on time.

Pubs, people and possibilities are at the heart of everything we do, so the ideal candidate will:

  • Work proactively within the Welcome Inn Team.
  • Ensure kitchen and serving areas are set up each day.
  • Replenish serving areas in a timely manner with an eye for detail.

  • Provide an epic hospitality experience to all who utilise the Welcome Inn.
  • Take pride in the appearance of the Welcome Inn, whilst working closely with The Facilities Team and Cleaning Team to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Attention to detail is key to this role, so we need a team member who can:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of food, safely.
  • Perform duties in accordance with COSHH regulations and food policies.
  • Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and service areas.
  • Ensure all food is stored in accordance with due diligence procedures.

As part of the team, you will be required to:

  • Effectively manage time around preparation of food.
  • Have a flexible approach when communicating with people at all levels.
  • Provide cover for other members of the team where possible.
  • Communicate with the wider Facilities team to support with events.
  • Full on the job training will be provided

Person Specification – Technical Competencies/Professional expertise

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The passion to deliver an epic service, experience in a hospitality environment is highly desirable.
  • The ability to build relationships and appropriately communicate to people of all levels.
  • Able to work in a team by demonstrating flexibility – a real team player.
