The College Arms, a charming pub nestled in the suburbs of Hertford Heath, has reopened following a £250K investment by independent pub operator Punch Pubs & Co., with Management Partner Neil Robertson at the helm.
This significant investment has enhanced the College Arms’ unique character, creating a warm and inviting environment for both locals and visitors to this beautiful area. Inside, plush buttoned velvet sofas, reclaimed timber features, and quirky accents are accompanied by cosy log burners and feature mood lighting, providing the ingredients for a cracking pub atmosphere.
The College Arms’ garden room has also been restored. Its light, open feel, decked with reclaimed timber flooring, grand chandeliers, and authentic log burners, creates the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal in a unique setting.
Outside, the pub’s vast space has been transformed to create places for guests to enjoy every occasion, including a stunning sun terrace patio, a verdant beer garden and a heated stretch tent that can be enjoyed all year round. Its rustic bench seating and quirky barrel tables and stools, in this idyllic location overlooking woodland, creates the perfect halfway house for weekend walkers and a fantastic place to enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner.
The College Arms’ food menu is brimming with quintessentially British pub classics with an eclectic twist, perfectly matched with decent local beers, carefully curated cocktails and an expertly selected wine list. This cracking range, alongside honest pub food, promises guests a classic dining experience.
It wouldn’t be a great Sunday without a traditional roast, and Sundays will always be extra special at The College Arms. Roast sirloin of beef or a slow-cooked lamb shank promise to be the star of the show and the perfect accompaniment to those all-important family get-togethers.
Management Partner Neil Robertson says, “It’s an honour to reopen the College Arms and to unveil its new look to the community. This fantastic pub has been at the heart of Hertford Heath for many years, and the investment has truly enhanced everything we love about the pub. We’re really excited to be welcoming guests back to the College Arms, and we can’t wait for more memories to be made here.
“The welcome we have received from the local community has been fantastic, and their support for myself and the team has been overwhelming. We’re looking to getting to know them all and forming long-lasting relationships”.
Punch’s operations director Robin Belither says, “The College Arms is a magnificent pub on the outskirts of Hertford, and we are thrilled that our investment has honoured its unique charm and character that our locals know and love. Its impressive new look and fantastic food and drinks promise to provide the community and visitors to the area a warm welcome into a cosy, quintessentially British pub setting.”
