The Dragonfly pub in Orton Malborne, Peterborough has received a £110,000 makeover creating a family friendly pub for the area.

The changes at the pub include a complete internal refurbishment and redecoration to create an open plan single trading space with central bar area, new accessible facilities and toilets and external lighting and signage. A new menu is being launched alongside the reopening which includes a stone baked pizza menu to eat in or takeaway and a new snack menu.

Speaking about the investment, operations director Ed Passey said, “We are extremely pleased with the refurbishment at the Dragonfly with our long-standing publicans, Venture Pub Company. We have created a pub which will attract more families and females alongside the regular customers and sports teams”.

Manager at the pub, Dawn Smith added, “The Dragonfly is back, and we can’t wait to welcome new and old customers. We are a community pub and the new look will offer the whole community a great place to visit. We are really excited about the future”.
The community pub already hosts a number of darts, pool and crib teams and would like to welcome more who wish to become involved. They will be introducing live music on a monthly basis and disco and karaoke nights.

The investment at the Dragonfly is part of a £30 million investment programme in community pubs scheduled for this year by independent pub operators Punch.
