The Derby Arms pub in Rainford is preparing to reopen following a £300k investment from leading pub company, Punch Pubs & Co.

The mammoth investment has completely overhauled the charming village pub and will introduce a brand-new look and feel that’s designed to create an excellent experience for all.

With updates being shared on the pub’s social media channels, the overall look and feel of the pub has been enhanced with new décor that retains its original character while adding charm through updated lighting, new flooring and complementary artwork.

The bar area has also been revitalised, while the existing counter has been retained and reimagined with fresh décor and brass fonts that counter the wider interior changes.

All three dining spaces have undergone a full transformation, with their iconic and characterful beams and brickwork enhanced with new wall lights, blinds and velvet fixed seating. Soft muted tones of sage green, browns and subtle patterns are set to bring a calm and welcoming ambience.

Outside, guests can expect a completely refreshed exterior, including brand‑new signage designed to create an inviting first impression. The revitalised outdoor space and terrace features hanging baskets, updated lighting and comfortable new seating – perfect for enjoying the summer months with friends and family.

With the visual transformation nearly complete, team Derby Arms is now putting the finishing touches to their new food and drinks offer ahead of its reopening on the 17th of February.

Their upgraded drinks range promises something for every occasion, with an extensive selection spanning cask, craft, wine, spirits and soft drinks. The newly-launched, premium food offering will also showcase indulgent classics with a twist – such as pork belly bites, crispy butter chicken croquettes and honey and sesame glazed sausages, alongside much-loved staples including chicken schnitzel, beef lasagne and beer-battered fish and chips.

A revamped look and menu aren’t the only changes in store. Punch Pubs & Co Operations Manager, Alistair Walsh, is also recruiting for new Management Partners to lead the pub into its next chapter.

Alistair shared: “We are delighted to be investing in this fantastic pub, which I know holds so much value within the community. This significant investment will ensure that our guests, both old and new, can continue to enjoy their local and see it thrive for many years to come.

“An experienced team will be stepping in to oversee the running of the pub while we continue to recruit for new Management Partners that will lead it into a long and successful future. I’d encourage anybody interested in this exciting opportunity to reach out to our recruitment team on 01283 501999.”

As final plans take shape, The Derby Arms team are continuing to share updates with their community via the pub’s social media channels.
