The Keyworth Tavern in Keyworth has reopened following a £250,000 investment by leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co.
The pub, situated on the corner of Fairway since the 1960’s, right at the heart of Keyworth village, will continue to be led by existing Management Partner, John Francis.
The Keyworth Tavern was closed for five weeks while Punch repurposed the dining area which had been underutilised and now offers visitors another place to enjoy their drink. As part of the refurbishment works the old bar has been remodelled and improved, a new darts area has been introduced, and the walls and floors have been refreshed throughout.
John, originally from Keyworth, took over the pub a year ago and is excited about the transformation of the pub. He said: “I believe the refurbishment will make a real difference to our guests experience of the pub, already I have received so much great feedback.”
John will continue to focus his efforts on expanding the pubs social calendar and prioritise his beloved cask ales. “We offer a weekly quiz every Thursday, weekend entertainment and our Quarterly Beer Festivals that attract large numbers of fellow cask ale connoisseurs, like me.”
Mark Gardner, Operations Manager at Punch Pubs & Co, said: “I’m really happy with the tweaks we’ve made to The Keyworth Tavern; we’ve invested a significant sum of money into the pub that I’m sure our guests will love. John and his team have been wonderful to work with, and I look forward to continuing our great partnership and offering visitors a great experience.”
