The Kings Head, located at the heart of the coastal town of Cromer, has reopened following a £420,000 investment by independent operators Punch, with experienced Punch Publican Roy Hunt remaining at the helm.

The pub has been transformed inside and out. Internally this open plan pub has a traditional warm feel, with decoration to achieve a rustic look, including driftwood style floors and feature wall cladding with feature mood lighting and new comfy furniture throughout. The investment has also introduced subtle coastal accents that creates a connection with the pubs seaside location, including a feature table with a Cromer map top.

There has been structural works which included complete refurbishment of the pubs facilities, including the relocation of the cellar and kitchen in order to create more space in the trading area. This new kitchen development has allowed the pub the opportunity to introduce a brand new food menu which will be served to customers in the newly created dining area.

The outdoor trading area has also been made over to enhance the space available, creating an area for customers to take full advantage of the pubs beautiful coastal setting. It has benefitted from new furniture, planting and lighting, meaning customers can enjoy food and drink outside into the long summer evenings.

When speaking about the investment Roy says, “It’s been really amazing to see the transformation of the pub and I’m proud that we have a better place for the local community and holiday makers to enjoy. The team and I are so excited to open the doors, and its brilliant that the investment has given us more trading space. This helps us to take all the right measures to keep our customers safe at this time”.

Punch’s managing director, Andy Spencer says, “This is an exciting investment by Punch in this unique pub that we are thrilled to have completed. We are excited to continue to work with Roy who is an established pub operator. Combining this fantastic pub with great people who bring a wealth of experience and expertise will ensure the local community and visitors to Cromer will benefit from a terrific pub”.

The team at the Kings Head prides themselves on their drinks offer and is known for serving a range of quality real ales. Their live sports offer remains, and the team can’t wait to be able to welcome back their live entertainment offer, in particular their Karaoke nights which are much loved within the community.
