The 17th-century pub, will sit within Punch’s Leased and Tenanted estate and will be run temporarily by Punch partner Chris Stockton before long-term Publicans are recruited.
Speaking about the acquisition, Punch Pubs & Co Head of Acquisitions Andrew Cannons commented: “We’re delighted to welcome The White Bear to the Punch family. This is a fantastic, characterful pub with a proud history and a strong place at the heart of the Middlewich community. It is exactly the kind of high-quality, community-focused pub we look for as we continue to grow our estate, and we’re excited to support its next chapter.”
Known as being the go-to place in the community for its vast range of real ales, The White Bear has become a popular hotspot for its drinks offer and home-cooked food.
Punch Pubs Operations Manager Peter Kilpatrick shared: “Chris is a fantastic fit for The White Bear. Having successfully run Punch pubs for the last eight years, he understands what makes a community local thrive. I’m delighted he’ll be leading the pub while we recruit the right long-term Publican and I’m looking forward to seeing it continue to go from strength to strength.”
Punch is continually on the lookout for more quality acquisitions, including packages and single-site opportunities that fit well with its modern and progressive vision and growth plans.
