The Marine Bar & Kitchen in Waterloo, Liverpool, has been transformed following a £450,000 investment by independent pub owners, Punch.

The Marine has undergone a major renovation to create a more family-oriented pub which will continue to be operated by Publican, Paul McIver, who runs another two pubs nearby.  Works have included a full internal refurbishment to create a new contemporary feel with clearly defined bar and lounge areas. The gardens have been extended providing a more family friendly space with a children’s play area, table tennis and football tables being installed, together with outdoor TV’s and extensive seating under a new glass roofed pergola.

Publican, Paul, has a wealth of experience and is passionate about building epic community pubs. Together with his management team, Paul plans to bring the Marine Bar & Kitchen back to life creating a real hub of the community.

Speaking about the investment Paul said “We are excited to be back open; the investment has really done the pub proud, it looks great!  We are looking forward to welcoming customers new and old to their new look local to enjoy good quality food and drink’’.

The Marine Bar & Kitchen will now offer an extensive range of cask, craft and world beers as well as premium spirits and a gin menu. A new food menu has been introduced which includes sharing platters and burgers alongside traditional pub favourites.  The pub will host all the key sporting events throughout the year whilst also providing weekend entertainment from pub quizzes to live music and DJ nights.

Punch’s Managing Director, Andy Spencer said, ‘’This is a significant investment by Punch in a great community pub and we are pleased to continue working with Paul who is an established pub operator. With Paul at the helm we are confident that The Marine will continue to operate at the very heart of the community it serves.
