Guests of The Cricketers pub in Gillingham will see a new face behind the bar following the arrival of new Management Partner Paul Hughes.
Paul has taken on the local after partnering with leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co. who own the pub.
An experienced publican, Paul hopes to settle into the local community as quick as possible. “I want to re-establish The Cricketers at the heart of the local community; a place where everyone feels welcome, whatever the occasion,” said Paul. “At the heart of our offering will be a warm, genuine service, fantastic food and a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere.
“I want to build strong relationships with local residents, businesses and community groups, making The Cricketers a pub that the whole community can be proud of.”
The Cricketers, located on Sturdee Avenue is a family friendly pub and a favourite of Gillingham FC football fans, due to its proximity to Priestfield Stadium.
Paul is joined at the pub by his wife and their three daughters. Paul has run pubs previously and knows what it takes to make a success of his new venture. “I have a knack for developing and growing pubs; creating a successful environment that become an integral part of the local community.”
Helping Paul settle into his new surroundings is Punch’s Operations Manager, Mark Leech. Mark commented: “I’m delighted to have Paul come aboard and I’m looking forward to working with him at The Cricketers. The pub has gone through some upheaval and we’re really keen to re-establish the pub at the heart of the community and it once again be a place to enjoy a drink and food with family and friends.”
More information about the pub, upcoming events and menus can be found on The Cricketers’ website and social media page.
