The Kings Head pub in Chacewater, Truro, has been given a new lease of life following a full refurbishment thanks to £193,000 worth of investment from Punch.

This much-loved community pub reopened last week with new Publican, Joanna Bird at the helm. Joanna brings with her a wealth of experience in pubs and continues to also run the Waggoners Arms in nearby Camborne.

The Kings Head has been fully refurbished inside and out, with new signage installed, and an extensive interior refurbishment, including the renovation of the existing bar, new fixed seating, floor finishes and furniture throughout to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests to enjoy.

The pub also offers five letting rooms for visiting guests. The bedrooms have been fully refurbished presenting a really cosy, home from home look and feel, which visitors to the area are sure to enjoy.

Publican Joanna and her team have great plans to rejuvenate the pub which will have a strong community vibe, serving quality, homecooked food every day, along with the wide range of cask ales and premium lagers, and an extensive wine and spirits list.

Joanna said: “We’re really excited to be here at The Kings Head and we are delighted with the new pub and the response from our customers has been that they love the refurbishment!

“We’ve been welcoming families, old customers and new faces that we’re so glad to see at the pub.

“We have lots of plans for the future, and we’re all looking forward to a great Christmas!”

Punch’s Managing Director, Andy Spencer, said: “This is a significant investment by Punch in a great community pub and we are thrilled to be working with Joanna. We are confident that The Kings Head will go from strength to strength operating at the very heart of the community it serves.”
