The Bay Horse Inn is a well-loved pub located at the heart of Pickering. Set in a Grade II listed building it is full of charm, with beamed ceilings, open fires and plenty of unique features including a display of local artwork. The Bay Horse is steeped in history which remains a key feature of the pub, originally a Burgage in the time of King Edward I and is said to have been frequented by Oliver Cromwell. It’s famous for its delicious food menu full of pub favourites and serves a quality range of drinks including cask marque accredited ales.

The Bay Horse is spread over two floors and boasts two bars. Guests enter the pub into the first which is perfect for a relaxed drinking experience. Next door is the main bar area which has a cosy, comfortable atmosphere and seating for dining. The pub also benefits from a first floor restaurant which is home to the famous Sunday carvery. Outside is a stunning secluded drinking area with plenty of sheltered seating which can be enjoyed all year round.

Pickering is an ancient market town in North Yorkshire that is steeped in history. Known as ‘Gateway to the Moors’ it sits at the foot of the moors overlooking the Vale of Pickering and is a great base for exploring North Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Coast and the Dalby Forest. As well as this it boasts its own historic attractions, museums, shops, restaurants and pubs. The Bay Horse is located at the centre of the town, just around the corner from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway station, allowing the pub to welcome railway enthusiasts as well as locals and tourists.

About the Agreement

Our Tenancy agreements vary between 3 – 5 years offer a flexible approach to running your own pub business. Your pub will be ready to trade, with carefully tailored food and drinks menus in place which you can evolve as you go along.
You will receive a high level of support and everything you need to run a successful business. From the beginning, you will have dedicated Operations Manager, plus access to training and development, business planning, operations and accounting expertise.

Once you’ve completed the 5-day induction course we’ll provide you with ongoing support to help you maximise the efficiency, sales and profitability of your pub. This includes helping you decide on the right drinks offer, guidance on margin and support creating a marketing plan to build for continued success. To help market your pub, we also offer lots of support and advice.

Punch Tenancy agreements have shared repairs liability, we will help you manage your ongoing repairing obligations. We do this by operating a repairs and maintenance fund for all new agreements.
