Overview

This pub is available on a Tenancy At Will agreement (TAW). A TAW agreement is a short-term licence which can be terminated at short notice. You are taking on a temporary agreement only and as such some key elements of the codes of practice and the Landlord and Tenant Act will not apply. TAWs cannot be assigned nor can sub-letting take place.

Even though this may only be a tenancy at will, you will need some form of capital behind you for cash flow and early expenses. The actual amount of capital required for ingoings and the rent will be discussed with the Operations Manager.

Please be aware that for a TAW application, you will need an up-to-date Personal License to progress.

Could you run this pub?
The Half Moon Inn, is a lovely traditional looking drinks led pub in the heart of the pretty village of Barton, Richmond which is surrounded by open countryside.  Sitting on the Main St through the village it’s in a great spot to be a hub for the community with regular passing trade from those who live in the village or those passing by to the wider area and there already several societies who frequent the pub.

Business facilities
The Pub is very traditional in style, it has a bar area with fixed and loose seating throughout, one small and cosy bar and separate room for customers to enjoy a game of pool. There is an outdoor space in a yard to enjoy the warmer weather with a smoking solution and the pub has a few tables to the front for passing walkers.

About the local area
The Half Moon Inn sits in a lovely small village in Barton facing a small green, and just a few yards from the local Post Office and village shop is a small village in the Richmondshire, North Yorkshire.  It’s an affluent area nearby the border of County Durham, and within easy driving distance of Dalington. It is also just off the A1 motorway. It sits on the main road through the village so has regular passers through who use the route to access the village or reach the surrounding area.
The village is also surrounded by a cluster of other villages including Newton Morrell, Barton, Stapleton, Melsonby, Middleton and Aldbrough St John and the area draws walkers and cyclists.
