We are looking for an experienced partner who is passionate about food, drinks and guest experience. Someone who can think outside the box, to take this canalside pub to the next level. It is essential that you have a food background, excellent leadership skills to drive sales through superb service and strong financial skills to maximise all the opportunities.
Outstanding hosting skills are crucial as is a great personality. You will have experience of running a high volume business and happy to jump in where and when needed, especially when the sun comes out as it can take the business from a steady day to 100 miles per hour! You will be known for keeping an exceptional pint of beer, with standards that are second to none throughout the pub. You are passionate about coaching people and able to attract like-minded people to come and be part of your team. You will love to plan events and see the potential of the location in both the summer and winter months.
Understanding the local life is essential, as you will be at the heart of village and be proud of the tight knit community you serve. This is a busy village local as well as a destination pub and guests will look forward to catching up on all the local gossip. You thrive on the community aspect and plan well in advance to create great memories and events throughout the year.
The Pub
The Old Boat House is situated on the bank of Bridgewater canal connecting Runcorn, Manchester, and Leigh.
There are a number of different trading areas, with lots of character. Cosy corners, space for family get togethers, special occasions or just catching up with the locals. The different space allows the pub to flexible depending on the time of the year. The pub is famous for a great range of cask ale alongside delicious food. The catering kitchen helps support the delivery of high volume during the summer months.
External seating next to canal and a lovely outside area ensures that during the summer months the Old Boat House is the place to be to enjoy a chilled beer or glass of wine. The Old Boat House is the hub of the village and is a great stop off spot for dog walkers and ramblers, attracting many visitors during the summer months.
About the Agreement
The Punch Management Partnership offers a unique opportunity to run your own pub business, with affordable in-goings and the freedom to lead your own team, manage your business within a framework and support from Punch in a proven partnership model.
You’ll receive an uncapped share of top‑line turnover, giving you the flexibility to pay yourself and your team in a way that works for your business. Your own Ltd Company will provide the day‑to‑day management of the pub, retain full ownership of team and operational decisions, whilst managing associated costs such as wages and minor repairs. Alongside this, you’ll benefit from extensive operational support, including marketing and recruitment within a framework designed to help your business thrive.
