Leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co has added to its growing portfolio with the acquisition of The Brickmakers in Swanmore in the Meon Valley.

The 19th-century pub, which is described as being full of charm and history, will sit within Punch’s Management Partnerships estate and will reopen this September following a significant investment by Punch.

While plans for the new-look pub are still under wraps, new Management Partners Liam, Brooke and Cathy are looking forward to making their mark on the pub as it embarks on an exciting new chapter.

Speaking about the acquisition, Punch Pubs & Co Head of Acquisitions Andrew Cannons commented: “The Brickmakers will make a fantastic addition to our Punch family; its community focus and longevity locally have already made it a thriving community hub. With our upcoming investment, I’m excited for the pub’s future and looking forward to seeing our new partners and their team take it into a new chapter.”

The open-plan pub features a welcoming bar area and a dedicated restaurant space. At the same time, to the rear it boasts a patio and beer garden, with outdoor seating and a pizza kitchen – perfect for outdoor dining and seasonal events.

Punch Pubs Operations Manager Grant Read added: “Liam, Brooke, Cathy and the team have some exciting plans lined up at The Brickmakers, and I do not doubt that the pub will thrive once it reopens after its investment. We aim to keep the community updated while the transformation takes place and look forward to updating everyone through the pub’s social media pages in due course.”

Punch is continually on the lookout for more quality acquisitions, including packages and single-site opportunities that fit well with its modern and progressive vision and growth plans.
