Leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co has expanded its business with the acquisition of The Harbour Inn in the fishing town of Amble.

The traditional pub, which boasts beautiful sea views opposite the working harbour, will join Punch’s Leased and Tenanted estate, with the existing team continuing on their journey.

Speaking about the acquisition, Punch Pubs & Co Head of Acquisitions Andrew Cannons commented: “We’re incredibly excited by this acquisition and grateful to Charlie and the team for the smooth transition. This is a fantastic pub that has an excellent reputation, which, supported by Punch’s leading industry training and investment, will continue to thrive for many years to come.”

The popular pub, renowned among locals and tourists alike, is beloved for its focus on seafood. Being within walking distance of Amble Harbour means that guests are spoilt for choice with fresh supply from independent fishermen, alongside their seasonal menus that are available all year round.

Aside from its popular food menu, The Harbour has deep roots in the community, having served the town for over 150 years.

Punch Pubs & Co Operations Manager Jason Moran added: “Charlie and the team are already running an excellent pub which is well-loved locally. I’m excited to be a part of the pub’s next chapter as it transitions into the Punch family, continuing to work alongside the team as we watch the pub continue to flourish.”

Punch is continually on the lookout for additional high-quality acquisitions, including packages and single-site opportunities that align with its modern, progressive vision and growth plans.
