Leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co has added to its growing portfolio with the acquisition of the Joiners Arms in Morpeth.
The Joiners Arms is one of the oldest traditional pubs in Morpeth and will be led by existing Publican Natalie Grenfell before transferring into Punch’s Managed Partnerships estate.
Speaking about the acquisition, Punch Pubs & Co Head of Acquisitions, Andrew Cannons, commented: “We’re thrilled to have acquired this fantastic community pub, which already has a great reputation locally. I do not doubt that with Punch’s industry-leading training and support this pub will continue to be the beating heart of the community.”
The Joiners Arms sits on the south bank of the River Wansbeck overlooking the weir. Its history dates back to 1871 and has been the beating heart of the community since.
Punch Pubs Operations Manager Jason Moran added: “This is one of the most popular pubs in the local area, not least because of the terrace that overlooks the river. Natalie has done a fantastic job managing the pub in recent years and I and looking forward to working with her.”
Punch is continually on the lookout for more quality acquisitions, including packages and single-site opportunities that fit well with its modern and progressive vision and growth plans.
