Leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co has added to its growing portfolio with the acquisition of The Marcia Grey pub in Acomb, York.

Located in the village of Acomb, on the Western side of York, the Marcia Grey is a popular community pub which will continue to be run by its existing team and general manager.

Speaking about the acquisition, Punch Pubs & Co Head of Estate Development and Acquisitions Andrew Cannons commented: “The Marcia Grey is a fantastic community pub, and we are looking forward to working collaboratively with the existing team to ensure a smooth transition. We are confident that, with the help of Punch’s industry-leading investment and support, it will continue to remain at the heart of the village for many years to come.”

Sitting just off Acomb High Street, the Marcia Grey is surrounded by many established local retailers and community spaces. It offers two beer gardens with ample outdoor seating, as well as boasting a cosy seating area and a newly refurbished log burner.

Punch Pubs Operations Manager, David Hill, added: “The Marcia Grey is a brilliant, wet-lead pub with strong ties to the community of Acomb. Our objective is to retain its positive reputation and work alongside the existing team to ensure that the pub continues to thrive.”

Punch is continually on the lookout for more quality acquisitions, including packages and single-site opportunities that fit well with its modern and progressive vision and growth plans.
