Leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co has added to its growing portfolio with the acquisition of The Masons Arms pub in York.
The Grade II listed building, which sits on York’s historical Fishergate, will sit within Punch’s Leased & Tenanted estate and will be run by existing Publican, Terry Cooney.
Speaking about the acquisition, Punch Pubs Operations Manager Jason Moran added: “I am really looking forward to working with Terry and the team at the Mason’s Arms. Terry has done a superb job creating a welcome atmosphere at the pub during his tenure and I’m excited to work alongside him as he continues his journey.”
The community pub is well-known for its historic features, including its fireplace and panelled bar. It also boasts a popular beer terrace overlooking the River Foss, making it a favourite destination for locals and tourists alike.
Punch Pubs & Co Acquisitions Manager, Henry Boshier, commented: “We’re thrilled to have acquired this fantastic pub in the centre of York, which already has a great reputation locally. I do not doubt that with Punch’s industry-leading training and support, this pub will continue to thrive.”
Punch is continually on the lookout for additional high-quality acquisitions, including packages and single-site opportunities that align with its modern, progressive vision and growth plans.
