Leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co has added to its growing portfolio with the acquisition of The Nelson Butt pub in Spilsby.

The much-loved community pub will sit within Punch’s Leased and Tenanted estate, welcoming new Publicans Macauley Bowers and Alex graham, after bidding farewell to long-standing Vendor Glen and Publican Erica.

Looking after the pub and the new team will be Punch Pubs Operations Manager, David Hill, who said: “I’d like to wish Glen and Erica all the best as they leave their pub after many years. They’ve led the pub with the community at its heart, and I do not doubt that Macauley and Alex will be able to continue their legacy. I’m excited to be working alongside them to ensure the pub continues to flourish for many years to come.”

A well-established pub that sits in the market town, The Nelson Butt has long been known for its friendly atmosphere and strong reputation. An all-rounder, the pub boasts an open-plan main bar, a snug and a generous beer garden, with a consistent and lively calendar of regular events for the whole community to enjoy.

Speaking about the acquisition, Punch Pubs & Co Head of Acquisitions, Andrew Cannons, commented: “This is an exciting opportunity for Punch and I’m delighted to welcome The Nelson Butt into our Punch family. As always, it remains our priority to ensure this pub continues to thrive at the heart of its community, under new leadership and the guidance of David, who I do not doubt will lead the pub to continued success.”

Punch is continually on the lookout for more quality acquisitions, including packages and single-site opportunities that fit well with its modern and progressive vision and growth plans.
