Leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co has added to its growing portfolio with the acquisition of the British Oak in Mosborough and the Old Grindstone in Crookes.

The British Oak and Old Grindstone will both benefit from a fresh lick of paint and refurbishments, planned for a later date and will be run by the existing Publicans before joining Punch’s Managed Partnership estate.

Speaking about the acquisition, Punch Pubs & Co Head of Acquisitions, Andrew Cannons, commented: “I am delighted to secure two new pubs in Sheffield for Punch. Sheffield is well-known for its pubs, vibrancy and music so it’s a place we are keen to operate in.

“The British Oak and Old Grindstone are both at the hearts of their communities, have great reputations locally and I have no doubt that with Punch’s industry-leading training and support, the pubs will continue to thrive.”

The British Oak is a community pub open seven-days-a-week situated on the main road in and out of Mosborough. The Old Grindstone is placed in the heart of Crookes, providing a place for guests to view live sport and take part in karaoke.

Punch Pubs Operations Manager David Hill added: “I know both pubs are very important places for people to gather and enjoy in their respective communities. Our job is to enhance that experience and so I look forward to working with the Publicans at both pubs and can’t wait to see the new look and feel once the refurbishments are completed.”

Punch is continually on the lookout for more quality acquisitions, including packages and single-site opportunities that fit well with its modern and progressive vision and growth plans.
