Punch Pubs & Co is delighted to announce the return of the Punch Darts Classic, relaunched for the first time since 2018 – and it’s landed with a perfect throw.
The iconic competition has seen an incredible 240 teams from around 190 Punch pubs step up to the oche, with entries stretching the length of the country from Dumbarton in Scotland right down to Truro in Cornwall. Proof, if ever it was needed, that darts – just like great pubs – brings people together.
Two rounds of local heats got the competition underway, but it now nears the halfway point, where the victorious teams have been battling it out across eight Regional Finals, held nationwide and showcasing the very best of grassroots pub darts. Already completed regions include the South Coast, South West, East Midlands & South Yorkshire and two in the North West, with further action still to come in the North East, West Midlands and South East.
With standards rising and nerves tightening, the competition is well and truly warming up – and there’s everything still to play for.
All arrows are now pointing towards a spectacular Grand Final on Saturday 13th June, hosted at the CBS Arena in Coventry. 16 finalists will go head‑to‑head on the big stage for the chance to be crowned Punch Darts Classic champions – a title that promises serious bragging rights and pub pride.
The relaunch has been proudly supported by some of the biggest names in the world of pubs and darts, including Sky Business, Paddy Power, Heineken and Magnify Marketing, helping to make the Punch Darts Classic bigger, bolder and better than ever. Their backing has ensured the competition delivers not just memorable matches, but real excitement across its pubs, night after night.
Commenting on the competition, Punch Pubs & Co Assistant Marketing Manager, Jake Greem, who supported the relaunch, said: “The Punch Darts Classic is all about celebrating our pubs and the communities that support them whilst enjoying some competitive games of darts.
“The response to its return has been phenomenal – the atmosphere in our pubs has been electric and the standard of darts has been nothing short of unbelievable. We’ve seen pubs and communities really coming together over this fantastic competition, so we can’t wait to see who holds their nerve and lifts the trophy this June!”
With packed pubs, rising rivalries and more than a few 180s already hit, the Punch Darts Classic is proving to be a resounding success. One thing’s for sure – this competition has well and truly hit the bullseye.
