Punch have partnered up with Otter Brewery to raise money for the Royal British Legion, a charity supporting families of the armed forces.  So far over £2,500 has been raised through sales of Poppy Otter, a specially created winter beer sold in West Country pubs. As well as selling the beer on site, Punch made an additional contribution to the charity.

Across the West Country – including Devon, Dorset and Somerset – every time a pint of Poppy Otter was sold the brewery pledged 5p to the Royal British Legion. A cheque for £2,639.20 was presented to The Royal British Legion’s Dartmoor chairman, Anthony Howard and Sargent Mike Amor from the Army Careers Office.

Duncan Garrood, CEO of Punch Taverns, said: “We are proud to partner with Otter Brewery and sell its winter beer in our West Country pubs, raising money for such a great cause. It’s very important to us that we help wherever we can to support charitable efforts by our Publicans, partners and suppliers.”

Patrick McCaig, sales and marketing director at Otter Brewery, said: “A big thank you to all our drinkers who did their bit during our silver anniversary year to support the Poppy Appeal continue the great work they do. We would like to give a special mention to Punch, and their generosity with an additional contribution to the final amount.”

Carol Arnold, community fundraiser for The Royal British Legion Devon, added: “Otter Brewery already do lots of fundraising for other charities, and we feel privileged to have been one of them for the past seven years.

“We can do something really significant with this donation and look forward to developing our continued association with them in the future.”
