The Cross Keys pub in Nottingham city centre has reopened under new management following a £100,000 refurbishment by leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co.
Rory Calladine is the new Management Partner of the historic 1890s pub on Byard Lane. Rory has retained previous staff members and hopes to create a community within the hustle and bustle of city centre life.
Rory explained: “”It’s vital that we don’t lose what makes the Cross Keys special, it’s an important pub to a lot of people in the city. I was instantly drawn to the pub and as soon I discovered it was available in a partnership with Punch, I jumped at the chance.
“We will become a key venue in the city centre, take part in community events such as Dot2Dot, Saint Patrick’s Day, PRIDE and we will nominate a charity each year to get behind that is close to our hearts.”
Guests of The Cross Keys will instantly notice the pub’s traditional feel and special characteristics have been retained throughout but that a complete refresh has taken place.
Mark Gardner, Operations Manager at Punch Pubs & Co, said: “The Cross Keys is a very well-known pub in the centre of Nottingham, so it was important we retained as many original features and the feel of the pub as possible.
“This is a very exciting time for Rory, and I look forward to working with him moving forward and I can’t wait to see where what he’ll make of the place.”
