The Avenue, High Shincliffe has reopened following a £250k investment by independent pub operators Punch Pubs & Co, with Management Partners Karan and Peter Boyes taking the helm.

Punch has lovingly improved the pub following a two-month restoration that saw it receive not only brand-new external signage to enhance its kerb appeal but the refurbishment of its six double, ensuite bedrooms. Offering all the home comforts you could wish for, the pub’s rooms are also pet friendly, making The Avenue the perfect place to stay for anyone looking to escape the hustle-bustle of city life and explore all the village has to offer.

Inside guests will be pleased to see Punch have focused on enhancing the pub’s traditional features, like the stunning wooden bar area that has been lovingly restored to showcase all the natural charm and ambience that makes it the perfect place for intimate pints with friends, or a family pub lunch.

Guests are also treated to a new and improved menu featuring all the ‘proper’ pub classics you’d expect, including a hearty handmade chicken and ham pie, some belt-busting burgers and of course an absolutely showstopping Sunday Roast to round off the week.

Experienced Management Partners Karan and Peter are new to the area and absolutely thrilled to be relaunching the new-look Avenue to the local community and guests from all over the world. Karan said: “We’re loving being here and sharing the new-look Avenue with the locals. The rooms are proving extremely popular; we’ve got people visiting family and friends from all over the world and as far afield as South Africa! It’s lovely to offer guests a home-away-from-home in a ‘proper’ pub that’s now been shown the love it deserves and can be enjoyed by so many.”

Senior Operations Manager Jannine Leadbetter said, “We’re so proud to be reopening the Avenue. It’s such a great example of a traditional pub at the heart of a community, the rooms are gorgeous and add something special to make it really stand out from the rest. Our Management Partners Karan and Peter are doing a fantastic job bringing the pub to life and will ensure the Avenue’s success for many years to come.”
