The Candlemaker pub on Battersea High Street officially reopened its doors this February following a three-week closure.

Having undergone an impressive £200k investment, the pub has welcomed guests back through the door to show off its full-scale internal and external refurbishment, transforming it into a vibrant community hub.

Relaunching with a fresh vision and new face at the helm, the pub aims to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all, where guests can soak up live sports coverage, a packed entertainment schedule and a true sense of community.

New Management Partner, Wayne Marshall said: “The Candlemaker is a fantastic pub – it’s in a great location, its spirit and the guests make it the perfect place to bring the community and everyone together under one roof.”

The Candlemaker will be known for its home-from-home atmosphere, born on value and community connection.

A significant part of the investment has gone into upgrading the pub’s AV equipment, so Wayne and the team can deliver top-tier sports coverage. With the addition of Sky Sports and TNT, the pub aims to be the go-to place for local fans and has ambitions of strengthening ties with the local sporting community by sponsoring nearby teams.

Beyond sports, the pub’s entertainment line-up promises something for everyone. Its lively calendar ranges from DJs and live music to karaoke, quizzes and bingo – cementing The Candlemaker as a go-to destination for socialising in Battersea.

The refurbishment has also extended the outdoor space. Now, the garden features modern furniture, improved lighting and heating, creating a traditional but high-quality setting that can be enjoyed all-year round.

Since reopening two weeks ago, The Candlemaker has already begun welcoming back its regulars – many of whom have praised the refreshed look and friendly feel of the pub.

With its renewed focus on community and a commitment to offering memorable experiences, The Candlemaker is set to become a buzzing cornerstone of Battersea life once again.
