The Coronation pub in Alvaston, Derby, has reopened following a £250,000 investment by Punch Pubs & Co.

Known for its lively entertainment and family-friendly atmosphere, the pub has been firmly reinstated at the heart of the community just in time for summer.

Leading the transformation is Management Partner, Tania Rose, who brings a wealth of experience to the pub and was eager to begin its new chapter.

She said: “I’m incredibly proud to be leading The Coronation into this exciting new chapter. We wanted to create a pub that truly offers something for everyone – from families enjoying a meal to friends coming together for live sport and entertainment.

“The response since reopening has been fantastic, and it’s been great to see both familiar faces and new customers enjoying the new look and atmosphere. With a packed summer of events ahead, we’re excited to build on The Coronation’s role as a hub for the local community.”

A new face at the helm isn’t the only change guests will notice at The Coronation. Its renewed identity places a stronger focus on sports and entertainment, while continuing to serve as a welcoming space for families and the wider community.

Following a full refurbishment, the pub now features a refreshed interior, upgraded lighting and enhanced outdoor space, with a mix of new and refurbished fixtures throughout.

The pub’s entertainment system has also been upgraded, paving the way for weekend events and live sports screenings. With a busy schedule featuring karaoke, darts, pool and quiz nights, Tania and her team aim to offer something for everyone, whatever the occasion.

A firm favourite, the pub’s much-loved pizza oven has been retained and now complements a brand-new menu featuring classic pub dishes, indulgent options and lighter bites – all paired with an upgraded drinks range. Dishes such as chilli con carne, beer-battered fish and chips, and chicken gyros position The Coronation as a go-to destination for family meals, weekend lunches and match-day occasions alike.

Although still in their first month of trading, Tania and the team have been delighted with the positive feedback received so far, with many guests taking to social media to praise the hospitality, service and new menu.

The reopening comes ahead of a busy summer of sport and events, with regular updates shared via the pub’s social media channels.
